Evento Startups: Wherex participó en conversatorio de Buk Starter “Conversa con los Kapos”

On the occasion of the anniversary of Buk Starter, the free version of Buk HR software for SMEs, a conversation was held between the "Kapos" leaders of Chilean startups and entrepreneurs, to share experiences and useful tips on business management.

El evento online de startups–que tuvo lugar el pasado 28 de octubre– contó con la participación de Jaime Arrieta, CEO de Buk, Carlos Rozas, Head Of Innovation de Wherex, Antonio Correa, fundador de Chipax, María José Montes, Chief HR de Políglota, Isidora Barros, fundadora de ASAP y Katterine Carrasco, dueña de Kada Ridershop. 

While there is no specific recipe for success, Buk's Jaime Arrieta highlighted one key to moving in that direction. "When you are starting out, you have a power. You can serve your customers like no one else will, because in the beginning there are only three of them. You can call them, sit down with them. My advice to entrepreneurs is not to be afraid, in the beginning, of not making money. Think about what comes next, think about how that will allow you to build something that will solve a problem and that will be scalable in the future". 

Startups in Chile are characterised by innovative and flexible structures. For example, the home office and horizontal relationships between the different teams are essential. These ventures also stand out for the visions of their young leaders, who shun corporate traditions. 

Al respecto, Carlos Rozas compartió la visión de Wherex, plataforma digital para comercio B2B y licitaciones industriales. “Cuando recién estás partiendo la empresa es como una familia. En un principio, tu prioridad está en las ventas o validar tu producto en el mercado. Pero en la medida que empiezas a crecer, tienes que armar equipos. Ahí te das cuenta que armar buenos equipos de trabajo requiere de mucho tiempo. Y para eso, definir la cultura de la empresa es esencial”.

En relación a lo anterior, Antonio Correa de Chipax, software de finanzas para pymes, señaló que “es importante definir qué es tu cultura como emprendedor. Escribirla en un papel, definir cuál es tu identidad y qué es lo que te llevó a entender por qué te gusta trabajar con tus socios y qué cosas en común tienes con ellos”.

These and other topics related to entrepreneurship in its initial stage were addressed during the startup conversation organised by Buk Starter. The various panelists shared anecdotes, concrete examples and practical advice for anyone interested in starting a technology-based business.
