In order to automate some of its administrative processes, specifically industrial procurement, Blumar Seafoods and its subsidiaries Salmones Blumar S.A. and BluRiver SpA. integrated their SAP ERP with wherEX, a B2B digital procurement platform.

With this integration, the fishing and aquaculture company, with a presence in the regions of Biobío, Los Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes, will be able to access a network of more than 20,000 suppliers for its industrial purchases. It will also be able to generate competitive, transparent, traceable and efficient purchasing processes.

The tool, through artificial intelligence, generates a perfect match between the demand of the companies and all the available supply. This will allow them to reduce the transaction costs associated with these processes. In addition, it reduces typing times, supplier contact phases and the entry of quotations in SAP.

Blumar S.A.'s assistant manager of purchasing and supply, Nelson Pérez, said: "This integration will contribute to the modernisation of our industrial procurement processes and give an important plus to the use of the platform. Another advantage will be the reduction of purchasing management times, with the benefit in cost that this implies".

The integration works for all ERP systems that support HTTP and allows the quotations uploaded to the portal to be kept in line with the company's ERP. This facilitates the transfer of information and optimises the generation and management of purchase orders, which can then be downloaded by suppliers directly from the platform.

How does integration work for industrial procurement processes?

First, the company must have an integration kit and access keys that are delivered at the start of the process, which is developed through the enablement of the API for wherEX 100% cloud on Amazon AWS. This interface was developed on strict security policies based on ISO27001, guaranteeing integrity and security of all information transferred between systems.

Then, the company generates requests in its ERP, which are automatically transferred in real time to the tender platform, standardising the coding it has for each of its supplies and services. With this, you can filter and group according to type of requirement, urgency, area, or as defined by the company itself, to create tenders in just a few clicks.

Once the deadline for receipt of bids for each tender has expired, the purchasing company can review the bids and send the information back to the ERP for approval and generation of the purchase order, avoiding typing or time wasting by not having to enter the information again in the management system. Once the purchase order is generated, it will automatically go back to wherEX, where suppliers will have access to it from their profiles.
